You Don’t Have to Starve Yourself to Lose Weight
Worrying about food, your body and your weight can feel like a constant battle and struggle. You may have spent years feeling out of control around food, turning to food to cope with emotions or finding yourself over-eating or binge-eating regularly. Unfortunately diets and quick-fixes rarely work long-term to change your relationship with food. This course is designed to free you from that constant struggle and battle with food. This course is designed to help you to build a new relationship with food, new habits around food and to set you free from obsessing about food and your weight - so that you can finally just get on with enjoying your life.

- learn why you binge-eat and over-eat and how you can stop binge-eating or over-eating;
- learn how to manage any addiction to sugar and rebuild your relationship with alcohol;
- be equipped with tools to boost your confidence and self-esteem as well as to transform your personal and professional life;
- improve your sleep quality, getting a restful night's sleep every night... and much more...
This not just another intuitive eating course. It is a course which allows you to build completely new habits around food and to learn how a lot of our drives around food are down to subconscious patterns of behaviour.

Who is this course for: This is a course for anyone struggling with their weight, anyone that eats to cope with their emotions, individuals suffering with bulimia or binge eating disorder and anyone else that would just like to build a new relationship with food.
This 12-week online programme equips you with the tools, materials, online resources and skills that will enable you to transform your relationship with food and your body. You will be personally guided and supported throughout the online course and are welcome to contact us with any additional questions that you have.

Course Content
The Food Therapy Clinic helps clients to make permanent changes to their relationship with food
The course contains the following modules:

WEEK 1: Introduction and Checking in with Yourself
Often we eat in moments when we feel low, anxious or bored. This module will help you to understand how your thoughts affect how you feel and what you can do to manage your thoughts and emotions, so that you don't need to turn to food to cope but also so that you can be happier day-to-day in every aspect of your life.
WEEK 2: Why Diets Don’t Work and What You Can Do Instead
Most people will be able to stick to a diet for a short-period of time but will come off the diet only to feel completely out of control around food and to put back on any weight that they have lost. This module explores why diets don't work and also looks at a better approach to take in order to stay at a healthy weight long-term in a way that doesn't feel like a constant battle.
WEEK 3: Mindfulness and CBT for Managing Stress
When we are stressed we can turn to food to manage that stress. This module teaches you tools to manage stress more effectively so that you don't eat when you are stressed. The module looks at psychological tools from mindfulness and cognitive behavioural therapy which can also be used to manage your thoughts and feelings about others areas of your life too and so can also help you to improve your personal life, professional life and much more.
WEEK 4: Managing Emotional and Comfort Eating
This module looks specifically at why you may be eating in response to certain emotions e.g. sadness or anxiety and certain thoughts e.g. "I will start my diet tomorrow". It then helps you to identify the difference between physical hunger and emotional hunger and equips you with a range of tools to manage emotional eating more effectively.
WEEK 5: How To Optimise Your Sleep
Many people don't realise that when we have not had enough sleep or when we have bad quality sleep, we are much more likely to overeat and crave sugary and fatty foods the next day. This module teaches you everything you need to know about getting a good night's sleep every night and the relaxing recording will also ensure that you are getting that good deep sleep that willl allow you to feel more in control of your food choices the next day.
WEEK6: Boosting your Confidence and Self-Esteem
Very often people can turn to food to cope when they feel "fat" or "bad about themselves". In order to want to take care your body and feed it healthy food, you need to be confident and respect yourself and your body. This module focuses specifically on what you can do to boost your confidence and self-esteem - helping you to build a better relationship with food but also improve your relationships, career and every part of your life.
WEEK 7: Building New Habits for Lasting Behaviour Change
Most of our behaviours around food are habits that we perform on auto-pilot. Your habits around food can either serve you long-term or result in your feeling completely out of control around food. This module will take you through some neuroscience and help you to understand how your brain works and how it builds certain habits. Where intuitive-eating falls short, is that it does not help you to build new habits around food - it relies on these habits already being present. In this module you will learn how you can go about building habits with your eating that will allow you to effortlessly have a healthy lifestyle.
WEEK 8: Choosing a New Coping Mechanism
Often we will use food, alcohol, cigarettes, shopping or gambling as a way to cope - this module looks at why we turn to these things to cope and helps you to build new coping mechanisms that you can turn to instead. By learning these new tools, when you experience set-backs, you should be able to bounce back much more effectively (and without turning to food just to get through).
WEEK 9: Building A New Relationship With Alcohol
Our relationship with alcohol has a significant effect on our relationship with food. When we have had too much to drink our willpower shuts down and it can be difficult to make healthy food choices. This module helps you to evaluate your relationship with alcohol and to build new habits around alcohol too.
WEEK 10: Perfectionism and Procrastination
Unhelpful perfectionism involves pursuing high standards in a way that has a negative impact on your self-esteem and mental health. When you are always aiming to be "perfect" and not enjoying the day-to-day journey of getting to your goals, this can have a very negative effect on your life and can also lead to procrastination too. Unhelpful perfectionism also underlies many issues around food. This module helps you to manage this perfectionism and procrastination so that you can achieve your goals but also enjoy the day-to-day journey of getting there.
WEEK 11: How Your Food Choices Affect Your Mental Health
Many people know that our food choices affect our physical health but they are less aware of the impact our food choices can have on our mental health. This module looks at epigenetics and the microbiome to explain how our food choices can change our thoughts and how we feel.
WEEK 12: Exercise and Having No Time
Often we can feel no motivation to exercise. This module explores how you can ensure you are feeling motivated to move your body over the long-term. The module also explores the fact that many people do not make changes to their diet and their lifestyle because they have no time to do so. The tools you will learn will help you to see how you can make more time and even look forward to eating healthily and moving your body.
