Welcome - I'm Uxshely Carcamo, a registered nutritionist, psychotherapist, hypnotherapist and former lawyer, and the founder of The Food Therapy Clinic.

I work with adults who are struggling with their relationship with food - whether that's binge eating, emotional eating, food anxiety, ARFID, or finding balance during or after GLP-1 medication. My approach combines psychological therapy with nutritional understanding to help clients create lasting, sustainable change

I know how vulnerable you can feel when reaching out for support with food-related issues. Finding the right therapist and approach really matters.

BINGE EATING CASE STUDY

Cute Smiling Woman With Grey Hair Bends Her Head, Looks At Camera While Having Her Arms Cr

Susie reached out as she had been struggling with binge eating for many years. She found herself worrying a lot about her weight and trying lots of different diets but finding that nothing would stick. She would keep going with the diet for a few days/weeks but then any slight emotional trigger would drive her to decide that "she would start a new diet tomorrow" and then to binge. Every time she felt bad about herself and her body she would also think "there is no point in even trying with this diet" - and then binge. Through exploring the underlying drivers of her eating habits, helping her to shift how she felt about herself and her body and looking at her relationship with food throughout her life, we were able to use a combination of techniques to help her to stop bingeing for good. Whilst we didn't focus on weight loss, her weight actually stabilised to a healthy point just from her normalising her eating behaviours.

Clients names have been changed to protect their confidentiality and the permission of the client has been sought to share their story and experience.
