Weight Loss Therapy

Once you transform what is going on in your mind - transforming what is on the outside, becomes easy...

Worrying about food, your body and your weight can feel like a constant battle and struggle.  You may have spent years feeling out of control around food, turning to food to cope with emotions or finding yourself over-eating or binge-eating regularly.  Unfortunately diets and quick-fixes rarely work long-term to change your relationship with food.  At The Food Therapy Clinic we want to help free you from that constant struggle and battle with food.  We can give you the tools to enable you to get to your goal weight but also to sustain this for the long-term without feeling miserable or deprived.

Our specialist therapists can help you to rebuild your relationship with food and make permanent changes to your diet and lifestyle with FTCM®, a unique treatment combining psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, behaviour change techniques and nutrition advice.

Whether you would like to stop emotional eating, are struggling to lose weight or just want to lead a healthier lifestyle – these combination of techniques can help you to get to the root cause of your issues around food and help you to make lasting changes.

  • Have you struggled for years with your weight - going on one diet after another, losing a bit of weight but then putting it all back on again?

  • Do you feel as though those around you seem to be able to eat as much as they want to and stay slim but you are always struggling, counting calories, restricting your food intake and still you cannot seem to lose weight?

Rebuild Your Relationship With Food

Nobody should have to struggle with their relationship with food

  • Have you lost all motivation to eat healthily and to exercise?

  • Are you always planning to start a new diet “tomorrow” or on Monday?

  • Do you feel you have lost control over your food choices?

  • Do you turn to chocolate, cakes and treats the moment you get stressed, upset or a bit bored?  Maybe you would describe yourself as an “emotional eater” or a “comfort eater”?

  • Are you fed up of not fitting into your clothes anymore, not feeling good in your own skin and just do not know what to do about it?

Our Approach

Reversing unhealthy patterns - freeing you to lead a happy and healthy life.

Most weight loss programmes will recommend dietary and lifestyle changes without addressing the root cause of the over-eating.  Most people know that they should eat healthier food and exercise more... the challenge is in making these changes. Even if you are able to keep a diet up for a few weeks or months - if you do not resolve the reason for your over-eating - once you come off the diet, you will just put all of the weight back on again.

We help you to find out why you are unable to make healthy choices and why you are feeling the need to over-eat.  For each individual there will be unique drivers and psychological patterns that cause them to make the wrong choices over and over again.  Once we have identified these patterns and drivers, we can help you to make lasting changes - leaving you free to enjoy food and your life.

Why Choose To Work With Us

We can help you to find the root cause of your unhealthy eating patterns.

Most therapists do not understand nutrition and most nutritionists do not understand psychology but the unique FTCM® method used by all therapists working for The Food Therapy Clinic means that we understand both and so can successfully help you to resolve your issues around food for the long-term. Instead of having to see a separate nutritionist, psychotherapist, behaviour change specialist, hypnotherapist, sleep specialist, NLP coach, mindfulness can get all of these services in the one session.

Much like driving, dancing or any other skill that we perform on auto-pilot - our eating patterns can become unhealthy automatic responses to triggers such as stress, sadness or loneliness. Using techniques such as hypnotherapy those automatic, unhealthy habits can be reversed for good.  However an understanding of nutrition is also key to enable you to make lasting changes.  Unlike other therapists we won’t just recommend that you eat less and exercise more - we know exactly what dietary changes are optimal for achieving long-term health and happiness.
