WHICH TECHNIQUES WILL YOU USE IN MY SESSION?
Most sessions will combine several techniques, including hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, NLP and meditation. However if you would prefer for certain techniques not to be used or would prefer only to focus on using one technique, the sessions can always be tailored to your individual requirements.
WHAT EXACTLY IS HYPNOSIS AND HYPNOTHERAPY?
People often ask whether hypnosis can be used to take control of their mind or to make them do things which they do not want to do. There are a lot of misconceptions around hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Hypnosis and hypnotherapy rely on relaxation techniques to get the brain to a state where it is more able to process suggestions and where it is possible to alter subconscious patterns. You will be fully aware of everything that is happening and being said during the process but will be in a more relaxed state. Hypnosis or hypnotherapy cannot make you do anything that you do not want to do. Hypnosis is simply a tool which can help you to achieve your goals and make it easier to adopt new patterns and habits.
FOR HOW LONG WILL I NEED THERAPY?
The process is different for everyone. Some people are able to achieve their goals within one or two sessions and others require regular sessions for several months before they achieve their objectives. We can work together to tailor a treatment plan that works for you and your budget, ensuring that we can achieve your goals as quickly as possible. The recommended minimum treatment is a 90-minute first session, followed by 2 one hour long sessions spaced 2/3 weeks apart.
HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?
Each therapy session runs for either an hour or 90 minutes. For the first session it is preferable to book in for a 90 minute slot. Some clients that have travelled a long way for the session prefer to book in for a 2 hour or 3 hour slot. If you would prefer to book in for a longer slot, please feel free to do so.
WILL I NEED TO KEEP COMING BACK IN THE FUTURE?
The goal of the treatment is to resolve your disordered eating permanently, so that you do not need to seek out any further treatment in the future. If however you feel that you need to book in an additional refresher session in the future or would like to deal with any other issues, feel free to get in touch.
WHY ARE THERE NO TESTIMONIALS OR SUCCESS STORIES ON THE WEBSITE FOR THE TREATMENT OFFERING?
I am regulated by professional bodies that prevent me from using before and after pictures, testimonials from paying clients or success stories as a way to sell or market my therapy services. Before and after pictures are a very common tool used by those marketing quick fix diets or products in this industry. As a professional in psychotherapy, nutrition, hypnotherapy and mindfulness, I am not permitted to use such techniques to provide my therapy services. Whilst I have seen many people completely transform their relationship with food, I treat all information received from clients with the utmost of confidence and am unable to share any of this information with the public.
HOW IS THIS SERVICE DIFFERENT TO OTHER WEIGHT-LOSS/ EATING DISORDER SERVICES?
My approach is different to any other hypnotherapist/ psychotherapist/ nutritionist out there because I won’t just recommend that you eat less and exercise more for weight loss - I know that you already know that you need to eat less and exercise more. In fact, my approach is one which encourages you to enjoy food and to make changes to your lifestyle which won’t leave you feeling miserable and deprived. I understand both the psychology of eating patterns as well as which nutritional changes are optimum for achieving lasting results. Most therapists don’t understand nutrition and most nutritionist don’t understand psychology - but I understand both and so am able to bring you the best information from a range of different disciplines that you won’t find elsewhere.
